After six long years of fighting, World War II finally came to an end in 1945. The entire country was ecstatic and parties where thrown all over New Zealand to celebrate VE Day (Victory in Europe). For this task we had to imagine we were living in New Zealand in 1945 and are planning a VE party at your house, who we would invite and what we would do. I would invite my family gran parents, sibling e.c.t., all our friends, and everyone we know. I would have a huge fest and most of all hang out with everyone, just have a bit of fun group time after the long hard days.
Hi there Tia,
ReplyDeleteJade F here from the Summer Learning Journey, awesome job on completing another activity! I thought your VE party idea of just having a day of hanging out with all your relatives and friends was an awesome idea. I would want to see all my relatives and friends after those long years of war. Would you have food at your VE party? What would you serve at your party? I would have a lot of cake and maybe even a huge barbecue!
Looking forward to hearing from you and keep up the blog posting!
Jade F :)
Morena Tia.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Clare and I am part of the Summer Learning Journey working with the ako hiko cluster mostly which is in Auckland. This week I am visiting your cluster in Uru Manuka and seeing the wonderful things happening in Canterbury.
You have a very eye catching blog and I can see you are a very active blogger. Its really cool to read how you would celebrate your VE day and who you would invite. I big feast sounds really fun. I think the VE day would have been like Waitangi day in NZ where its a public holiday and everyone spends it the best way they know how. Do you know any other days like this in NZ where everyone has a public holiday together?
Don't forget to comment below and give other students a quality blog comment, this way you can get more points towards your summer learning journey total.
hear from you soon.
