Waiata

In  the past Māori would often use songs to pass down information. Here is a site with some more information about waiata.

For this activity we had to chose your favorite waiata. Mine is E Papa, it's a simple song. It's a bouncy song that quickly gets suck in your head.

    Ruby here from the Summer Learning Journey team! It's great to see that you've been making such good progress with these activities. Well done!

    This is a great waiata! I used to sing this one as a kid and play Ti Rakau to it like they are doing in the video.
    Have you ever sung it while doing the Ti Rakau actions?

    I wonder what the words mean. It's always important to know what we're singing. The words are just as important as the tune, I think!
