My Many Coloured Days Poem
On Thursday a few weeks ago Mr Maderin came in and taught us about thinglink. He showed us how to make a rainbow and upload it to thinglink, then he showed us how to put tags on it. If you hover your mouse over the rainbow a sentence from my poem called 'My Many Coloured Days' will appear. The poem is about how colours are feelings. Here is my poem (on the rainbow).

Kahoot It
On Tuesday we had two Kahoots, Kahoot is a great learning tool for what you need to know. You get given a question then you have to answer the question and if you get it right you get points. The faster you are the more points you get. The Kahoots we did where about time and measurement.

Tree House Sketching
On Monday last week we had to sketch what we wanted our tree house to look like. We also needed to think of descriptive words to describe our tree house for the writing part of this activity. My tree house has two doors one is the front door and the other goes to a bar that you can swing on for fun. Here is my drawing.

Gobstopper Experiment Writing
On Wednesday last week we had to eat and describe eating gobstoppers. Here is mine.
As the bag of colorful sphere came around I felt more and more scared. Mostly because the bag was full of gobstoppers. I have never had a gobstopper in my life and my mum has never let me have one because she says that it will make my teeth rot and I don’t want that to happen. I picked one up it was the colour of a lemon. It smelt of smarties and chewing gum. I looked at the penny sized ball in my hand. It felt as hard as a diamond and smooth like a page in a book. Then Miss Mcleod told us to put it in our mouths. I didn’t want to eat it but my friend Lauren was saying it was ok to put it in my mouth so I did it. My mouth exploded with a taste of fruity mentos and smarties. After what seemed like 4 hours I took my gobstopper out now it was as small as a pea and was a different colour. I took one last look at it then dropped it into a bin. “Bye bye little gobstopper” I thought to myself.

Bingo Night
On Friday at 6 o'clock our school held a bingo night at the Honby Working Mens Club. There were spot prizes and a silent auction. How to get a bingo is you have to dot all of the numbers in a square. The numbers where in lines going down . There was a game for kids and adults so if a kid got a bingo an adult will win as well. Here is one of my bingo tickets. Our table didn't win any bingo's but I won a spot price it was a drink bottle.

Winter Sports
In the winter year 5 and 6 play winter sport. You can chose from soccer, hockey, netball and rugby. We play at Kyle park or in the grounds in Hornby High. I play soccer the team I'm in is called South Hornby School (or SHS) Phoenix the other team is named United. Yesterday my team won 5-0, our second win. We have lost all the other matches. We where playing against Hornby Primary the team was all girls which was amazing because I have never seen an all girls team in my two term of playing soccer.

Awhina Badges
Yesterday we had assembly and the awhina leader and deputy badges were handed out. I got a awhina deputy badge. The school is divided into 5 Awhina houses and I am in Shand which is green some of the groups are Kid, Amy, Rakaka and Shands. How I became a deputy was a few weeks ago the school spit in to our awhina groups. We could chose if we wanted to have a go at being a leader or deputy of the group and I wanted to have a go. Then we had to say why we would be a good leader, I thought I would be a great leader because I have a younger sibling.
